Camp Arachnid returns in 2006 for its 5th year at Burning Man

The Camp Arachnid fundraiser on Saturday, July 22, 2006 was a great success. Thank you so much to all that came out to 'Welcome to our Parlor' - a day of Rope Bondage, Kinky Classes, and BDSM Play Party. A special thanks to all the volunteers that helped make it happen and to Edges in Santa Clara for providing the wonderful venue.

Camp Overview

Camp Arachnid provides a comfortable environment to learn, practice, and show-off rope bondage skills. Feel free to stop by during the day to learn some basic ties you can use on your friends and lovers, be tied in a nice decorative harness that you can wear around the playa, try your skill at escaping from one of our "inescapable" hogties, or just hang out with the spiderlings. Organized rope bondage classes will be held each day (see schedule below). Or also if you have some skill with rope yourself, we are always interested in learning new ties.

We look forward to seeing people that have enjoyed our camp in previous years and those participating for the first time. We are looking for volunteers to help with the raising of the camp class tent. We plan a larger tent to accommodate more people and lights for night time events.

Classes and Play Parties

Last year every class was filled to overflowing, so we’ve added more this year, at a variety of times to suit your schedule. There will be a greater variety in rope techniques taught and more BDSM classes besides rope bondage as well.

Classes run from the evening on Tuesday, August 30th to the morning of Saturday, September 3rd and will likely be held at 10am, 3pm, and 5pm each day. The Classes Page still shows last year's schedule, but should be updated with the 2006 schedule by early August.

We do our best to stick to our planned schedule.  Please check our camp whiteboard to be extra certain.

For those that want to practice what you learned in the classes or are experienced BDSM players, we'll be having an open play party in our dungeon on Wednesday night and Saturday night after the burn. Who knows we may add more play parties as well if we see enough demand on Wednesday. Bring your toys!

The camp is a couple dozen people from the San Francisco BDSM scenes. If you're curious, you can see the general layout of the BM camp and the ArachniDome. And like most other BM camps, we are kind to our mother earth.
